Job Description - Assistant Hotel Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Financial Controller in ensuring that the Accounting Department operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensuring that the bookkeeping is done accurately.
  • Assist with preparing the monthly Financial Package.
  • Handling & monitoring the General Ledger Accounts.
  • Daily auditing of all records pertaining to revenue of the hotel.
  • Prepares daily income and statistics reports.
  • Prepares relevant documents for incorporation in the monthly accounts.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the hotel's management.

This challenging full time hands-on position is for you if you:

  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major.
  • Some qualification in OMA/ ICASL/ AAT or equivalent in the Hospitality industry would be an added advantage.
  • 2 years work experience required.
  • Good command of English language.
  • Hotel accounting experience is a strong advantage.

  • Support hotel and supplier group series requests.

  • Support the supplier negotiation process at the optimal time to ensure that required rates, allocations and release periods are agreed, competitive, finalised, loaded and available in accordance with agreed SLAs and briefs.

  • Support with supplier Health & Safety (H&S), quality control management and legal requirements. (Checklists, audits and supporting documents).

  • Monitor the timely loading of rates and information into the contracting system Sales Force and Travel Studio in collaboration with the loading teams & keep stakeholders advised on progress. 

  • Support DA’s business development strategy by negotiating discounts, overrides, marketing contributions, and added value inclusions for brand campaigns and tactical promotions for across all products lines.

  • Ensure the reservations, operations and finance teams are provided with accurate data to complete booking processes and produce accurate customer invoices.

  • Assist with Travelife & GSTC sustainability certification requirements.

  • Conduct regular supplier audits and spot checks to monitor quality control.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or similar related experience, in Tourism or Hospitality Management or similar.

 Experience

  • +2 years of work experience in similar role.

  • Understanding of purchasing and pricing in B2B (B2C is a plus).

  • Knowledge of Travel Products in Thailand and preferable across Southeast Asia destinations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the smooth operations of Front Office, Housekeeping and the entire property.

  • Handles check-in/check-out, reservations and guest’s payments.

  • Handles guest complaints and other special requests of guests.

  • Ensures DOT, IATF and other LGU requirements for safety protocols are being followed.

  • Implements good practices and sets an example to the team.

  • Adept with Front Desk Operations such as reservation, cashiering procedures, reservation forecast, room status and availability.

  • Checks and ensures all rooms particularly those assigned for VIPs are in order and with amenities before arrival of guests.

  • Meets and assist VIPs upon arrival and bids them farewell upon departure.

  • Conducts courtesy calls on guests to check on concerns and special requests.

  • Ensures that all reports and room assignments are done properly.

  • Ensures blocking of rooms for future arrivals.

  • Be one of the responsible people looking after events and any hotel activities for guests or internal.

  • Directs the Security Officer/Personnel whenever circumstances demand such action.

  • Ensures that the lobby and entrance are kept clean at all times and the main entrance is free of obstruction and traffic congestion.

  • Double checks all check-in details, occupied room rate standing charges and ensure that all are correct.

  • Ensures the maintenance of sanitation, security and safety in guest rooms and associate’s work area.

  • Performs other duties that may be assigned by superiors from time to time.
